President Sirisena on State Visit to Indonesia following participation in the 20th Anniversary Summit of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA)

President Maithripala Sirisena who ​​left for Indonesia this morning, 6 March 2017, arrived in Jakarta today. He will participate in the 20th Anniversary Summit of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) in which Sri Lanka is a founding member, on 6 and 7 March. 

 

Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera takes part in IORA Ministers Meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Mangala Samaraweera is attending the Ministerial Meeting of the 20th Anniversary of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) taking place today, on 06th March 2017, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting is being held on the theme of “Strengthening maritime cooperation for a peaceful, stable and a prosperous Indian ocean region”.

   

Celebration of 69th Anniversary of Independence of Sri Lanka in Toronto

A flag hoisting ceremony at the Toronto City Hall on 4th February and a cultural event on 5th February 2017 were arranged to celebrate the 69th anniversary of independence of Sri Lanka, in Toronto by the Consulate General in Toronto. The flag hoisting ceremony was held on the 4th February 2017, from 11.00 am at the Toronto City Hall, while the cultural event was arranged at the Ontario Science Centre on 5th February 2017 from 6.00 pm.

 

Sri Lanka Investment & Business Conclave 2017: Growth through Partnerships 30th May to 1st June 2017 – Colombo – Sri Lanka

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, in association with the Ministry of Development Strategies and International Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, the Department of Commerce and the Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) will be organising the “Sri Lanka Investment and Business Conclave 2017”, for the second consecutive year, from 30th May to 1st June, 2017 at the Oak Room, Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Sri Lanka. 

The Conclave will focus on bringing potential Investors including business partners to Sri Lanka and provide them with comprehensive information necessary for investment decisions, as well as to create business linkages amongst Sri Lankan and visiting overseas businessmen. The Conclave 2017 will be centred on an overall theme of “Growth through Partnerships” and feature a two days event.
